As promised, here's a few cool little videos from our Fourth of July.
This Fourth was really special for us because Jon is old enough to actually care what is going on around him - so it was all new for both him and Natasha's niece, who is staying with us right now. Few things make you appreciate the meaning of a holiday more than having to explain everything about it.
The first couple of videos are from the DC Fireworks Show, which we watched from about right here. Any of you locals know that it's pretty courageous and/or stupid to actually try to make the trip downtown to see this, but we're real happy we did (actually the traffic wasn't bad at all, mostly due to the recent thunderstorm scaring people off I think). The first video catches the atmosphere pretty well, while the second is just a nice shot from near the end.

The last one is from the the Fairfax City Independence Day Parade, which we attended in the morning. It was pretty fun really, with a lot of bands, government depts., and the like marching. The video is from when the Washington Redskin Marching Band passed us.

As usual, there are also some pictures from our day for those of you who aren't already sick of us.

Love the fireworks! Joanna just passed through DC on their trip around the country. They are going to 24 states in 23 days- I know INSANE! You can look at all the places she's been to on her blog. I told her she should stop by your guys' place but she didn't want to bother you. Oh and just hang in there- graduate school will be great...once it has started.
