Went to the Smithsonian National Zoo last week. It was lots of fun, even though all the lions, tigers, bears, and oh my!s were hiding in the shade from the unbearable heat most of the time. In fact, that's what the people were doing most of the time as well.

The only respite for all of us animals was water. The Zoo put up little spraying hoses on the side of the path every once in a while so you can walk over, take a quick shower with your clothes on, and feel like a real person again for another few minutes. The only problem was that Jon was a little scared of the showers though because he's used to playing in the bathtub ... sort of like this little spectacle:




Yes, we saw the Chinese pandas. No, they didn't ride a tricycle or anything like that. Yes, they're pretty darn cute.

It's a good thing you turned the view to show Natasha and Jon a few feet down...I was beginning to wonder how in the world Jon was talking like a 7-year-old and Mike suddenly sounded nasally!
