It really is amazing how your children's whims and interests have a way of suddenly becoming consuming for you. Over the holidays we had the chance to take Jon out to the grand Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, UT. They claim to have the largest dinosaur bone exhibit on the planet - and after having seen (and paid for) it, I'm inclined to believe them.As you can see, this whole experience put Jon into a rather good mood, though he did get a little tired by the end. I also got a couple of really cool shots of the bones.
This trip has instigated something of a dino-craze in our home. It first led to frequent trips to the mall where they boys could engage in this sort of behavior at their dinosaur playground.
Most importantly, the museum also had a workshop where the kids can do a little of their own paleontology. This experience has seemingly sparked some passion in the Boy, as he now wanders around the home and yard in search of "fossils." In fact, dinosaurs are so on Jon's mind that when he had to pick something to bring for his preschool's first show and tell, (cue ominous sound effect) he choose his dinosaurs over anything with wheels.

Wow- that is all amazing- and great shots too! I didn't know you were in Utah for the holidays?? We got together with the chicas- pretty fun. Josh has been to that dino museum with my dad, but I've never been there. We tried to go this summer on free day- but the rest of the state thought of that idea too so it was WAY packed- we went to the farm instead.
