They've been busy lately, especially with the markers. I challenge you to explain how exactly they drew that spiderweb up in the corner.

Yet another trip to the Jefferson Memorial made a couple of months ago:

This is a couple of months old, but it's darn cute. Matt happened to be eating a sandwich and got some jam all over his face. Well, the pattern was awfully familiar and I just couldn't help myself ...

Like the last one, this post will just be a smattering of random stuff that's happened lately. Seems that's all we have time/energy for nowadays. First of all, Happy Independence Day! In spite of better judgment, we braved the traffic to go to the downtown DC fireworks show. Turns out it was worth it - we got a great spot almost right underneath the launch area. Wow. The show was amazing, it was way cool to have the 'pop' from the fireworks reverberate in your chest. Jon was scared at first, but Matt actually slept through most of it (which was hilarious because when suddenly woke up, he looked like he thought he was in a war zone).

Last week Natasha and the boys decided to make robot suits. The result was adorable of course ... and reminded me a little of Flight of the Conchords:

Finally, I got a new car. Her name is Martina. I love my new car. As you can see, I decided to go really practical and get something just for the commute with no aesthetic appeal.

Long time since last post. Must cover missed ground. Too exhausted to provide explanation (or even use complete sentences). Jon now 4, graduated preschool (in my regalia). Survived move. Boys growing up. Tina apparently not exciting ride partner. Went to beach outside Annapolis. Examine below proof:

It's true what they say about second children doing everything earlier because they have the example of their older siblings. At only one and a half, Matt has started to utter his first words, including koko (Russian for milk), up, hi, and kaki (some weird mixture of language that we think means 'to want'). We wanted to catch some of the leap into speech with this little video and also see what sounds he and Jon are capable of making at this point. You'll see him make his first 'F' noise as well as some typical Jon goofiness. If you feel so inclined, also check out the blooper reel at the end.

Pardon my French, but this is one of cutest damn videos on this blog yet.

A couple of months ago we had the unique opportunity of leaving our kids behind and getting a couple of nights in New York City. Long story short, we got to have a Valentines in Manhattan, take in a Broadway show, see the Stock Exchange, visit the WTC 9/11 museum, and hang out a lot at Times Square. We also got to hang out with some good friends and, best of all, actually sleep in.

If you are familiar with this song, you'll probably notice a very minor edit. :)
