Last weekend we gathered the courage to give camping with two very little boys a try. So we packed everyone and everything up into the Jeep and shipped out to Kinzua Dam on the Allegheny Reservoir. Of course, we didn't really do much out there. After all, it is camping, so all you've really got time to do is set up camp, get a fire going, cook, eat, and get ready for bed. Throw in chasing an active three-year old around the woods and trying to get the little one to go to sleep with all the stimulation around him and you get a pretty good feel for the whole experience.

Its funny, but maybe camping is really mostly about people forcing themselves to focus on menial 'survival tasks' instead of the daily errands that make up the rest of our modern lives. Pretty subtle difference, huh? The other things that draw me at least are the calm glow of the campfire, the quiet of night, and the great view of the stars.

In the morning, we also had the chance to run down to the reservoir, which had amazingly clean water. Mix that with the quickly building heat and the move from a nice walk on the shore, to a little wading, to just plain swimming was inevitable I guess. Once again, here's a nice little compilation video I threw together of the entire trip.

As an added bonus, here are a couple of shots of Blueberry eating blueberries.

What a great trip- Brandon's dad wants to take us camping when we get to Utah, but I'm afraid. But it looks like you guys had fun with the two boys and even got some sleep (which I am the most afraid) What a beautiful lake. And I can't get enough of that heart breaker Matt and his blond hair!! What a stud! He's giving his big bro a run for his money.
